Kiwi Heads Home After a Fantastic Experience

Kiwi has had a lovely time here in Colorado. We had to have Ms. Park, 6th grade teacher and knitter extraordinaire, make Kiwi a sweater so he could stay warm. He was able to learn a lot about our world! He is excited to venture back to warmer weather down in NZ.

We thank you all so much for letting him visit!

Kiwi and I went to the movies and we got the zookeeper. Kiwi was sad that we weren’t going to see the smurfs so after we got done with the movie and we got home we went up to my sisters and my room he got to make a lot of friends then we played on my xbox 360 we played cars, black opps, ufc and madden 11. Then we watched 101 Dalmatians and all the Shreks he love it. When it was time for bed it was already twelve o’clock and when I told it was time to go to bed he had a tantrum because he didn’t want to go to bed. So I told him if he didn’t go to bed the the tickle monster is going to get you if you don’t go to bed. So after that he went to bed. I think that when he left he missed me. I hope people treat him the same way in a way and don’t feed him to the dogs.

Kiwi’s Grand Adventures In The U.S.A

Yesterday, Kiwi visited music with the class and he played some guitars with us. We strummed up and down, some times slow, some times fast and Kiwi seemed very good at it too. We learned how to crash and burn which was you strum up and down super fast ,and after 30 seconds you cover the top strings of the guitar with your left hand as fast as you can and hold the top of the guitar until the music stops. I saw Kiwi play and I was so surprised, I never knew that Kiwi had that in him!! Every one asked Kiwi if he could play a song for us on the guitar and he said yes!! He decided to play the song called ‘Mary Had A Little Lamb’!! I almost cried because Kiwi was so good. He loved playing with us!! By Halle

Kiwi goes to USA.....

A few weeks ago, Kiwi was not too happy that LZ9 was supporting a team other than New Zealand in the Rugby World Cup, so he decided to go and get another class supporting New Zealand.....He packed his bags, loaded up with lots of chocolate and lollies and packed himself off to our Buddy Class in Colorado, USA. The next few months will be of Kiwi's time in Colorada with Ms DeSelm and her class.......

Kiwi arrived safe and sound to Colorado. The student's are so excited to show him around our fabulous state!
His first stop was meeting Jeeter, my Boston Terrier. Jeeter LOVES stuffed animals so he immediately thought Kiwi was his new toy. However, I told him Kiwi was our guest and that he couldn't get too close because our new friend would get scared. Kiwi thought Jeeter was a very curious dog and watched him 'noonoo' on another stuffed creature. Kiwi enjoyed his time hanging out with Jeeter and is now ready to venture out with kids. Ms DeSelm

And So Kiwi Emerges...

Emerging from my bag kiwi and me go off to watch some TV.
I know this sounds boring but that was our routine for the week.
I got home.
I grabbed kiwi.
I grabbed the remote.
So i wont go through every detail of that.
But then the weekend came yay yay my favourite time of the week.
Why you ask.
Well you should know you are a kid after all.
So anyway where was i oh yeah kiwi emerges ... the boring routine ... getting to the weekend...
So it was a saturday morning and i saw this as an oppertunity so i.... LAY IN OH YEAH.
So kiwi was waiting a while. but eventually IZZY GET UP YOU HAVE ICE SKATING!!!!
Omg do you know how annoying it is having to go some where on a weekend but at least Kiwi enjoyed it alot but ffion ( my little sister) gave him some toy stuff like mini earmuffs and a little toy coat.
He watch very intently infact.
Afterwards we went to dunkin donuts since kiwi couldnt have one so ffion gave him one of her toys ones.
Then we had a great day at home ... watching TV
Then sleeping my favourite sport.
SUNDAY ITS SUNDAY OMG ITS SUNDAY!!!!!!!!
The cries went through the house
Whats so great about sunday i asked as ffion came sprinting into my room.
HAZEL HAZEL HAZELS COMING!!!
She yelled enthusiasticly running to mum and dad.
YAY YAY i yelled i sprang out of bed and raced into mum and dads room.
Their bed was empty they must already be downstairs.
Me and ffion sprang into action and bounced down stairs.
Mum had already made breakfast.
Me and ffion fidgeted while we ate.
Sadley kiwi was still in my bedroom beside my bed.
So we left without him to pick up hazel but luckly we managed to get a pictuere of him and Hazel when we got home.

So that was pretty much it for sunday we went home got hazel settled in and went to bed since we hung around the airport for ages.

On Saturday me and my two friends name Mackenzie and Alyssa came for a sleepover
First I helped them unpack all of their stuff.

After that Kiwi wanted played Wii kiwi won in tennis,

Then we had lunch we had mash potato

When we finish we had a water fight, it was freezing cold

Then we went to dry of, Kiwi suggested we we took some funny pictures
so we did we took some pictures of me Alyssa, Mackenzie and Kiwi

After that we had dinner it was nice
When We finish we watch a movie kiwi wanted to watch Flush away so we did

It was awesome we ate popcorn and some chips,

we went to sleep at 11.00pm

Adventurous Wall

As I was looking up at the gigantic thing I had prickly goosebumps all over my body, I had a sick yucky felling in the pit of my stomach.

As I started climbing the gigantic wall the atmosphere went silent I started to shiver. When I was almost half the way up I felt like a plate of jelly and fell. As I was falling I quickly grabbed onto a rock and thought positive.

All my team mates were watching in shock as I kept going.
Nearly there... 3...2...1
I finally touched the gleaming silver metal bar Ive done it!!!!
When I looked down at the ground everyone looked like tiny tiny ants squirming around happily.
I bounced down the wall with a surge of pride!
I had done it.

After I had got my life saving harness taken off I smiled gleefully and sat back down to watch everyone as they set out to do the same adventurous thing I am now extremely proud of.

Kiwi and me had so fun together first me and kiwi played on my laptop we played happy wheels it was so fun kiwi was an excelente driver.One hour later we played xbox 360 we played fable 2 Kiwi was on fire,

he was way better than me at fable. After a few hours it was dinner time me and Kiwi had roti and cucumber salad Kiwi thought it was really yummy then we went to sleep.

Kiwi was playing on the trampoline, he was enjoying it.

He nearly fell off but i got him after that he got tired so he went inside with me

to have a drink of water. Then we went outside again on the trampoline.

After school I went to Iconz with Kiwi. We learned about the poppies and the brave soldiers that risked their lives in the Battle of Gallipoli in World War I. After that we watched five minutes of "Pacific". The New Zealand and Australin troops were known as the "ANZACS" which stood for Australian & New Zealand Army Corps.
Then we went down stairs to play dodgeball. It was awesome.

kiwi learned how to cook and how to mix and cook pikelet
this is the recipe
ingredints:
1 egg
1/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of milk(about)
1 cup of flour
1 teaspoon of edmonds baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt
25g(1oz.) of butter(optional)
Beat the egg and sugar until thick and add with the milk
to the sifted flour,salt and baking powder.lastly add melted
butter.mix until smooth and cook in sponfuls on a hot greased
girdle.

This week Kiwi had an awesome adventure with me while learning about nature. Kiwi found out that the largest temperate rainforests are found on North America's Pacific Coast and go on to Northern California up into Canada. He also found out the difference between a forest and a jungle. A forest only has trees while a jungle has other plants and grasses. Forest floors have access to a bit of the sunlight that is available at the tree tops. Areas of a forest which are damaged and become unprotected to sunlight become jungles (jungles grow). Forests are more dense, and jungles are supposedly taller. While Kiwi was learning about nature he made a really cool flower out of wood and painted it. After he finished his flower we decided to put the flower in my backyard.

Kiwi had a lot of fun with me and one of the really cool things he done was doing indian stuff. He got to see what kind of stuff us indians do when we pray. he also got to see a lot of my family members.

Lucky for Kiwi i also gave him some nice indian sweets and food.

Over the weekend i went to give my dog away and guess what Kiwi came with me. It was quiet emotianal because my dog lived me since he was a little puppy, but we had to give him away. When Kiwi first saw my dog(Choxsy)he was a little scared but i told him not to worry because Choxsy was really nice to Kiwi he even let Kiwi ride on him.

Kiwi Plays Cricket

Kiwi has been learning cricket and learnt all the important shots and things about cricket. He even ended up going to watch Australia versus New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland. Some of the shots were the cover drive,on drive,pull and cut. Kiwi enjoyed the game and learnt a new sport!.

Saturday night my best friend invited me to play at the park.
His name is Howard. On Saturday we played at 10.30 till 1.15. We had a good time making paper crafts. We were having so much fun that it was already 1.15. So me and kiwi said our good byes to my friend and left to go home.

On Sunday Howard came back over to my place and we played with Kiwi. Kiwi looked at my pet fish. Then we had to say goodbye to Howard.

Kiwi and the Russian Cooks

What has kiwi been up to this week?
kiwi has had tried 2 kinds of Russian food and they are:
-plasint
-porridge with onion
and he really really liked them!!!He even remembered 1 recipes:
-2 eggs
-1,5 tablespoon of sugar
-200 g flour
-400ml of milk
- 150 ml of water
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
-1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
Mix and beat together eggs and flour.
Mix the rest of ingredients and than slowly add it to eggs and flour mixture.
Beat well together.Pour one portion on hot pan and fry on both sides until golden colour.
That is called "blini"!!

Kiwi learns Hip Hop

kiwi has been dancing like a proper dancer.He has been movin his hips and shacking his arms in the air like he doesn't care.On the first leason he was in my room doing any dancing moves then i said kiwi that's not how you dance yes it is said kiwi.I took kiwi to the living room and put on the t.v and put on dancing channel that's how you dance kiwi so all day kiwi was in front of the t.v looking at the hip hop dance moves.At last kiwi came to me in the morning woke me up and said look I can do it so he showed me it was great. So after that I gave him so hip hop lessons and cool clothes the wear.Now kiwi can dance reaaly cool he rocks.Then for his treat I took him to the sky city with me.Kiwi had a great time with rhea.
